How to Paint With Acrylic

Do you want to have a career in acrylic painting or would just want to learn how to paint with acrylic? This article shall teach you how to paint with acrylic, whether you are just starting to learn the art of painting or you are already an experienced painter. First to consider is choosing the right materials your project. You may need to buy some sets of brushes suitable for acrylic painting. These are the round tip and the flat tip brushes. Brushes though made of natural hair are more expensive but are quality ones that give you a good finish.

Acrylic paint is also a must buy.  Two types are available in any supply store, namely the student and the artist quality. The difference between the two is that the artist's quality has more color pigment than the student's version. The next step after finding the right type of acrylic paint is finding the right colors.  What about canvas? Initially, you just need to find any type of thick paper or even printer paper that will work for your practice painting. If you are ready after your practice, then that is the time you will have to decide on buying yourself some canvas.

A good painter simply knows what to paint and so deciding on what you want to paint is your next step. You will realize by then what a wonderful world you are in because of the many thousands or even millions of things that you can paint. So this step will not be that hard.

Preparations should be done before you paint on canvass.  Find the best place to paint, preferably a bright one.  Set all your materials: water, paper towels, brushes, paper plates that have paint spread out, and your own canvas or paper. Having many paper plates is good, so when you have one on hand, squeeze out a bit of each of the oil color paints you have.

Sketch first the basic parts, such as the shape and the composition. But keep in mind that acrylic paint dries out in around 15 minutes, therefore, use an ample amount of paint before that time runs out.  Detailing will be done a bit later. Your brush should then be loaded with paint and when you do start painting, do back to front strokes. These basic steps will slowly but surely help you accomplish your little works of art.
